The FBI recently found themselves doing their best Reno 911 imitation when a training exercise went completely wrong. Agents conducting a mock investigation at a Boston hotel mistakenly stormed into the wrong room and detained an innocent man. To make matters worse, the man was a Delta Air Lines pilot who was sound asleep when the agents barged in and handcuffed him.
The man was reportedly interrogated for almost an hour before the agents finally realized their mistake.
The man was reportedly interrogated for almost an hour before the agents finally realized their mistake. In a statement, the FBI confirmed that they had been “assisting” the Department of Defense with the training exercise and had been sent to the wrong room based on inaccurate information. The agency went on to assure the public that “nobody was injured” during the incident.
The man who was wrongly detained must have been terrified as he was pushed into the shower while still in handcuffs. After not being able to get any ‘answers’ out of the Delta Pilot the police were called and the man was released.
It’s alarming that such a mix-up could happen during a training exercise carried out by the FBI. One can only imagine the trauma and distress experienced by the innocent man who was caught up in the confusion. Let’s hope that the agency takes this incident seriously and puts measures in place to prevent it from happening again.
You can’t make this $h!t up.
